Welcome to my Rube Goldberg Project
We recently finished our first project of the year! I was super excited to finish and present it at the presentation night! We had many ideas and problems building our machine. A reoccuring issue was our projectile (which we replaced with a better one).
It was super important to work out the kinks, because our machine had live fish.
Our machines purpose was to feed the two fish, thus the title Feeding Nemo. Our machine had a lot of energy transfers. We had a total of 10 steps. Each step was a challenge of it's own to build. We used 5 different simple machines but had a total of 7.
We started with a rough sketch of the machine. Soon we decided the purpose and went straight to work. Our most challenging step was the final step which was releasing the wedge to let the ball roll down the inclined plane and hit the fish food into the fish bowl. With the due date drawing closer and closer we finally finished the project with a day to spare.
Now that I look back on the project we definitely should have worked on time management. I also could have improved by staying with my group more. If we were to do this project again i would definitely plan the machine more.
